Karolina hails from the darkest, deepest regions of the Ukraine, now residing in sunny Bournemouth. She still holds on to the twang of her mother tongue, rolling her R’s and swapping her V’s for W’s. She is a beautiful girl, naturally so, but it hadn’t quite dawned upon her yet. She holds herself somewhat like the spotty young tomboy you knew from school, not quite comfortable in her own skin yet inoffensively attractive. She is small and diminutive, with big eyes [...]
So today I decided to meet up with a photographer friend named Matt and take some images of the raw coastline of Portland Bill. I say friend, Id never actually met him before, though before you start to think that I meet strange men on random parts of British coastland, let me explain. Matt is a young photographer who has been published in the Mail, the Telegraph and the Mirror. He is a very good photographer indeed and a few weeks ago, we started talking about photography of Dorset. In [...]
Well, I guess Ive just had enough. Every day or so, Im alerted to the fact that yet another load of my images have been stolen by some pathetic person who wants to pass them off as their own work. It really is abhorrent that these people honestly have no qualms in simply downloading your work, rebranding it and then uploading it as their own. I cannot believe what gives someone the right to think they can simply do this, and Im even more angry at how difficult places like Flickr and [...]
Swanage is a small coastal town in the heart of Dorset. It is probably most famous for its beautiful, Victorian pier that I went to photograph this morning. This little jetty that I stumbled across is beautiful in its simplicity, really giving the viewer a sense of walking out in to a never-ending abyss.
A single image, using an ND 10-stop filter, gives a real sense of being motionless. There was a beautiful sunrise to the right of frame, which lit this little Jetty beautifully [...]
So today, I met up with a friend named Russ and we spent the morning, and best part of the afternoon, photographing Durdle Door. At 8am, the sky was still blue, with nothing in the way of colour of depth, so we waited, and waited and waited. The weather forecast had been for glorious blue skies from dawn till dusk, yet as 8.30am arrived, still nothing. Then…wham. The sun pulled its way above a low lying storm out to see and lit up the Man O’ War Beach in glorious shades of [...]
For all of you who remember, this is an image I took of Sally, when I first got into taking photos of people about two years ago. Well, recently I was contacted by an artist (and I use that word deliberately as for once, it is true) who said to me that he had used this image as inspiration for a sketch. When I saw the image, I was completely blown away. This guy is supremely talented and I couldn’t wait to share his work. You can check out his Flickr page by clicking the button at [...]
